Sally J. Altman
Ms. Altman is a consultant to the For the Sake of All (FSOA) team at Washington University in St. Louis. The FSOA team is coordinating evidence-based community responses to health, education and economic disparities between the African American and white residents of the St. Louis region.
Prior to joining the FSOA team, Ms. Altman managed news partnerships at St. Louis Public Radio and served as health, science and technology editor at the St. Louis Beacon.
Ms. Altman has spent most of her career in the health care field. She has a Master in Public Health degree from the University of Michigan. She consulted with Fortune 500 companies, hospitals, physicians, insurance companies and non-profit educational organizations. Her work included strategic analysis and planning, legislative analysis, health network design, and contract negotiations for health care services and fees with hospital systems and physician groups across the nation.
David J. Anderson, M.D
Dr. Anderson is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who received his medical degree from St. Louis University. He completed his residency in orthopaedics at the University of Cincinnati, then did a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics through the St. Louis Shriner’s Hospital and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Dr. Anderson’s particular area of interest is in cerebral palsy and other neuromuscular disorders. He is employed by Signature Medical Group, and serves as its board president. He is a member of numerous professional societies pertaining to children’s orthopaedics.
Michael F. Burns, M.D.
Dr. Burns is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. Dr. Burns specializes in knee, shoulder and hip conditions.
Dr. Burns has been on the medical staff of the United States Olympic Committee for more than 20 years. During that time, he served as a team physician for the United States Olympic Team at the Summer Games in Beijing, China in 2008 and in Sydney, Australia in 2000. He was also the head physician for the United States Winter Paralympic team at the 1998 Winter Paralympics in Nagano, Japan.
Elizabeth Connelly, JD, CTFA, CISP
Elizabeth Connelly is Executive Vice President and Senior Wealth Advisor at Krilogy Financial in St. Louis. She has over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry.
She has an extensive record of community service including member of the Rockhurst University Leadership Council, Emeritus member of the Board of Regents of Rockhurst University, former President and current member of the Rockhurst Heritage Society – St. Louis division, member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame Financial Advisory Committee, past Chairman and member of St. Louis University Bequest & Gift Council, former President and member of the Board of Directors of Springboard, former Vice President of Civic Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) and many others.
Elizabeth Connelly is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL), former member of BAMSL Board of Governors and former Chairperson of the Probate and Trust Law Steering Committee of BAMSL. She is also a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association.
John Doerr, PE
Mr. Doerr, is Senior Vice President at Tarlton Corporation. He directs all aspects of the Estimating Department and Project Management at Tarlton. He has been with Tarlton since 1984 having previously served as Project Estimator, Manager of Estimating & Project Director. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Missouri Columbia.
Mr. Doerr is affiliated with associated General Contractors of St. Louis, American Society of Healthcare Engineering, St. Louis Art Museum & the Cor Jesu Academy in addition to his service to Signature Foundation as Chair of the Dragon Boat Festival.
Maxine Lax is the Director of Internships and Placements at Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice where she has worked tirelessly for 38 years. During this time she has helped students through the internship program and assisted with post-graduate placement. She also serves as liaison between the alums and Department.
Maxine received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and her Post Bachelor Certificate in Organizational Leadership and Associate of Liberal Studies in Computer Science from Saint Louis University. In her spare time, she loves cruising, which she feels is the best way to take a vacation.
Marc Long, Ph.D.
Dr. Long is president of Mount Marty College in Yankston, South Dakota. He has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of higher education administrative positions. He served as vice-president for marketing and communication, chief of staff to the president and vice president for administration at St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Prior to that position he spent 13 years as a member of the senior public affairs leadership team at the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Dr. Long received a bachelor’s degrees in political science and history, as well as a master’s degree in education, from the University of Missouri. Marc received his doctorate of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Mr. Noah is a former President of Signature Healthcare Foundation. Professionally, he is the former Executive Director of the Youth & Family Center, a nonprofit in North St. Louis providing youth programs, family support services & senior programs. He currently spends his time with family and volunteering in the community.
In a volunteer capacity, he remains active in the community through his involvement with the Sweet Potato Project, works with Community Health Centers, is a member of the SLATE Board of Directors and is involved with many other community organizations.
Randall J. Otto, M.D.
Dr. Otto is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed an orthopedic residency at St. Louis University. In addition, Dr. Otto completed a Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa. He works at Premier Care Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and is specialized in hand & upper extremity, should & elbow and total joint replacement.
Dr. Otto likes to spend time with his wife and four children. You won’t see Dr. Otto driving anything besides a Ford.
Mike Shaner, Ph.D.
Dr. Shaner is a Professor of Management in the Saint Louis University School of Business and Administration. In addition to his extensive teaching experience, he has provided management development and consulting services to both large and small organizations, national and international, in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Shaner teaches graduate, undergraduate, and executive Masters level courses; and he has been awarded every teaching honor, both school and university, that the University bestows.
Dr. Shaner’s International teaching experience includes the development and delivery of executive MBA courses in such places as the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Finland, Australia, and both European and Asian Summer Schools for Advanced Management where he teaches a course on “Failing Forward: Leadership in Difficult Times” to executives from all parts of the world.
Stacy Sloas, CFP®
Stacy Sloas is a Financial Advisor for Krilogy Financial. She has been in the financial services industry since 2012. She is a Certified Financial PlannerTM and is licensed in Missouri. Ms. Sloas graduated from the University of Missouri –St. Louis with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Planning.
Stacy is actively involved in many areas within the community. She is on the Board of Directors for Jewish Family & Children Services; participates in the Women’s Leadership Council of the Humane Society of Missouri; is the Vice President of BNI- West County Business Alliance; on the Finance & Legal Curriculum Advisory Board at the University of Missouri- St. Louis; and is a Pro Bono Financial Coach with the United Way.
Mike Stephenson, CMPE
Mr. Stephenson has been the Administrator of the Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic Division of Signature Medical Group of Kansas City, PA in Overland Park, Kansas for the past 29 years. Previously, he was the Administrator of the Arkansas Valley Bone & Joint Clinic in Russellville, Arkansas. Mr. Stephenson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Arkansas Tech University.
He continues his commitment to lifelong learning and community service through his interests in photography and his volunteer work with Signature Foundation and other organizations.
Mr. Stephenson is a member of the Medial Group Management Association (MGMA); a Certified Medical Practice Executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE); Member of the Missouri MGMA and the Greater Kansas City Medical Managers; American Alliance of Orthopedic Executives (AAOE) and Midwest AAOE.
Mr. Vest is the Chief Executive Officer of Signature Medical Group, Inc. He also works as a medical practice consultant nationally with a special interest and experience in organizational development and business practice management. He served on the National Committee for Quality Assurance Advisory Committee developing the NCQA Spine Physician Recognition Program and is a former member of the Health Care Industry Council of The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He is currently President of the American Academy of Orthopedic Executives. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Midwest Health Initiative. He was awarded Medical Practice Executive of the Year in 2015 by the Medical Group Management Association, MGMA.
