Signature Healthcare Foundation's 2nd Annual Forum, Making Healthcare Affordable for All, was held on Friday, October 22, at the Frontenac Hilton in St. Louis. More than 200 participants listened to frank and forthright presentations by keynote speakers Uwe Reinhardt of Princeton University and Gail Wilensky, former Administrator of HCFA and director of Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, viewpoints were exchanged in a lively panel discussion which included U.S. House Representative, William Lacy Clay, Missouri State Representative, Sam Page, and CEO of SSM, Ron Levy, with Michael Burns, M.D., serving as moderator. Jan Vest, CEO, of Signature Health Services, Inc., announced the establishment of a Signature Healthcare Foundation award in the memory of the late Illinois Senator, Paul Simon. Senator Simon’s wife, Patti Derge Simon, was present and express her thanks for the establishment of the award. Plans are now underway for a third forum.
