The Healthcare Business as Usual: How Much Longer Can We Afford It?
Uwe Reinhardt
James Madison Professor of Political Economy &
Professor of Economics; Princeton University:

A leading health policy expert, Professor Reinhardt has served
on a number of government commissions and advisory boards,
among them the Physician Payment Review Commission (now
MedPAC) and the National Advisory Council for the Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. DHHS.
Professor Reinhardt is a member of the Institute of Medicine,
National Academy of Sciences, serving on its Governing Council from 1979 to
1982. He is past president and a Distinguished Fellow of the Association of
Health Services Research on whose Board he served for over a decade. He is a
director of the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and is a
member of the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured.
Professor Reinhardt has also served on the External Advisory Panel for Health,
Nutrition and Population of The World Bank, and is a trustee of both Duke
University and the Duke University Health System.
Professor Reinhardt has been or is a member of numerous editorial boards,
among them The New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of the
American Medical Association, Health Affairs, the Journal of Health
Economics, the Milbank Memorial Quarterly.
Professor Reinhardt received his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.

Gail Wilensky, PhD.
John M. Olin Senior Fellow Project HOPE

Dr. Wilensky’s professional career combines the analytical
skills of a policy researcher, the politial insights of an advisor
to the Congress and a former presidential appointee, and the
administrative skills of a manager of both large and small
organizations.
Dr. Wilensky is a former Administrator of the Health Care
Financing Administration where she directed the Medicare and Medicaid
Programs. Prior to joining Project HOPE, she was most recently with the White
House as Deputy Assistant to the President for Policy Development where she
advised President George Bush on health and welfare issues.
