Following is a listing of previously awarded grants:
2003 Health Policy Forum Grants
Two grants were awarded as a result of the 2003 Forum, one to St. Louis Connect Care and the other to the Institute for Research and Education in Family Medicine.
The St. Louis Connect Care grant was used to fund the development of a “data warehouse.” The analysis and reports on performance generated from this effort provides physicians and administration with vital knowledge on how to best serve the patient base, modify provider practices, adjust front office operation and refine service area support. The “data warehouse’ project 1) centralizes data for knowledge management, 2) increases access to information used to make clinical and business decisions, 3) improves patient care quality, 4) decreases patient wait time and 5) reduces costs by reducing errors.
The Institute for Research and Education in Family Medicine grant was used to support two leadership forums for health care providers. These forums help identify critical areas affecting the health care disparities in the greater St. Louis area and provide avenues for individual effort to provide leadership in addressing these ideas. Forum programs included reports fro the St. Louis Regional Health Commission, data collected by Dr. Richard Kurz of the St. Louis University School of Public Health on barriers to access of health care, as well as presentation on homeless health care, school health and health care access.
